In 1997, a small local group of African American businessmen- Larry Huggins, Everett Rand and Tim Rand formed the Chicago Football Classic (CFC) as a not-for-profit organization dedicated to encouraging African American youth to achieve their personal best in school and beyond. Our initiative empowers them to not only complete high school, but also attend Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
This year marks the 16th anniversary of this game. For the first time, Morehouse College will go against Central State University, who last took part in the Classic in 2008, losing to West Virginia State 47-13.
The events for the weekend include a battle of the bands, a dance team battle, a tailgate featuring many black owned businesses, and a career fair. For more info visit http://www.chicagofootballclassic.biz.
