Last night, the Boston Red Sox accomplished a goal almost 100 years in the making, they clinched the World Series at home, a feat that had not been done since 1918. The Red Sox 6-1 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals gave them the 4-2 series win and their third championship since 2004. The MVP of the series went to first baseman/ designated hitter David Ortiz who had a phenomenal series batting .688 on an 11 for 16 performance with two home runs, six runs batted in, and 8 walks.
