What better way to get over the winter blues than by checking out the latest and greatest in the video game world, since the temps are keeping you inside anyway. Here’s what’s hot for Spring 2014:

MLB14 The Show: Playstation3, Playstaion 4

The Show is now the only game as the MLB 2k series has folded, but that doesn’t mean that Sony is resting on their laurels. Show series has been so good for so long that there’s really no reason to worry — unless you don’t own a Sony system. Provided you do, you’ll find all sorts of new features, including a handy ‘Quick Count’ that speeds up the pitcher/batter duel and what might be the finest beard-rendering technology in all of gaming.

EA Sports UFC (Spring 2014 | Xbox One, PS4)

While the developer THQ has become extinct, the UFC franchise is proving to a survivor as they have evolved into life as an EA Sports property. Featuring 100 real UFC fighters and running on the company’s fancy new ‘Ignite’ game engine, it hopes to do justice to the immensely popular sport – and with the makers of the great Fight Night series handling its development, there’s reason to believe this one has a shot at the title.

(CNN) — Talk about thieves in the temple.

Some $600,000 in cash and check donations were stolen this week from Lakewood Church in Houston, according to the city’s police department.

Incredibly, all of the money was from one weekend’s donations, the church says. For many American churches, $600,000 in tithes would be a good month or even year.

The church, which is pastored by bestselling author and preacher Joel Osteen, told congregants the stolen money came from contributions on March 8 and 9.

The theft occurred between Sunday afternoon and Monday morning. About $200,000 in cash and $400,000 in checks were stolen from a church safe, said Houston Police Department spokeswoman Jodi Silva.

The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made, Silva said.

If you have seen the show before, you know that Galifianakis does his best to rattle his celebrity guest with a bizarre line of questioning that sometimes pokes fun at sensitive issues in their lives. With the Commander and Chief on the show it was no different, but the President was able to hold his own and push in the process. Check out the interview here.
